Summer of Change

Okay, my new YA Paranormal ms just went to the editor two nights ago, can't wait to get it back and start working on her suggestions. I have contacted someone about the book cover and can't wait to see what she comes up with! I am pretty excited about this new book and I love the characters, sure hope my readers will love this one too.

What are you reading tonight?

I am reading a series called Feyland right now. Will blog about them once I finish all three books, really surprised that I am enjoying them so much as I usually don't read books like this.

Review by Marlene Engel

As Emily drove down the winding road, she spotted a house and was instantly drawn to it.  Although there was no “For Sale” sign on the yard, it didn’t appear as if anyone was living there.  There was just something about that house that made her feel like she was meant to have it.  After some research, she found that the house was indeed vacant.  She was told by the realtor that the owner didn’t have the house listed, but said if the right buyer came along, someone who loved the house as much as his family did, then thy would sell it.

After purchasing the home, Emily found a box full of pictures in the attic.  She loved how the house was decorated and was hoping to find furnishings similar to the pictures as possible.  To her delight, she came across an antique shop that had many of the original furniture and décor from the house.  Emily became quick friends with the shop owner, Marsha.  She learned that Marsha was very close to the family who lived in that house.  She also found out that the house held a secret.  In the library of the house, there was a “window” that allows you to travel into the past.  Emily stumbled upon this by accident.  At first she didn’t know what was happening and thought she was going crazy.  When she realized that she had traveled back in time, it intrigued her.  She was able to meet the family who had lived there before and formed a quick bond with them.  But when she finds herself falling for a man in the past, she’s wondering if she say goodbye to the present day and live in the past with him.

Yesterday’s Memories is unlike any book I’ve read.  Although it is a romance novel, it also has time travel in it as well.  I wasn’t sure how I’d respond to a book of this genre, but found that I really liked it.   I enjoyed seeing how the characters of the present and past interact and the complexity of the romance that they shared.  Overall, I really enjoyed this book.  It will make you laugh and it will make you cry, but overall it will have you believing in the magic of love.

Published Author!

This has been an exciting few months. Yesterday's Memories has been edited and published in both paperback and ebook. Summer of Change is on the way to the editor for the first round of editing. I am about 12,000 words into my work in progress. I have been learning so much and received so much support from all my writer friends.

I have had no many positive comments on my first book with many people requesting a sequel. It is such an amazing feeling especially when a volunteer came into my work place with three copies of the book raving about how he loved the ebook so much he bought three copies of the paperback for me to sign. He is giving two away as Christmas gifts. I can't believe how exciting that was for me to hear.

Finally!

Well, Yesterdays Memories is published as an ebook on Amazon.com. It is the unedited authors proof I put up to see what type of response I would get. So far 11 copies have sold! I am very excited. Haven't gotten any feedback yet but I am guessing that is because no one has finished the book yet. I am so excited.

I submitted the book and got the email from Amazon that it was published about an hour after our 10th grandchild was born Preston River. So you can imagine I was walking around with the biggest grin on my face the entire day. Life is really good!

Thanks to everyone who has bought the book and I hope that you enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
